Rainbow Basin Loop Drive, Barstow, CA

We drove on the rainbow loop trail near Owl Canyon Campground.

It is a one-way and gets narrow at times.

Beautiful colors of muted green and reds (pics do not do it justice) are around every turn.

There was a beautiful ridge that had a ribbon of black at the top.

We got out and hiked to an overlook of the hills.

It would be beneficial to have high clearance past this stop.

and at one point due to our low clearance, Kim got out and made moved some rocks.

While we were there we noticed crows were gathering around a rock cliff face.

They were doing beautiful mating dances in the air.

We treid to find the fossil trail but was unable.   The road is uneven to get there, but it would be so cool to see some fossilized prints of Camels or Mastadons!  I'm not sure what a Bear-Dog is but I intend to find out!
