Yesterday I saw a doe that looked ready to pop. Today I saw this: :)

We got to meet Zoey Kim's great neice while away. She is 4 mos old. Ginger and Gator were especially facinated.

Took the puppies on their first roadtrip. They got a glimps of dirty snow for the first time. They were preoccupied with running with Sam though.

I divided up the herd yesterday. Samantha and Gator came with me to Joe's house. This is Joe and Carisha's dog Bear with Gator. Gator was fascinated by Bear's fast wagging tail.

While we were in town we took Suzi to the park for lunch. Gator handled the leash like a pro!

Shandi came by last weekend. It was great to see her. They moved and she has to hike up 41 steps to get to the house... eek

Gator and Bailey love to play with empty plant containers!

They got their first shots yesterday. We were noticing that Bailey (who is larger) does not go down steps but Gator does now. The vet is concerned that she is growing too fast, and we have a mild food change. 1/2 puppie food and 1/2 adult dog food 2x per day. He thinks the growth plates in her hips are causing her discomfort and is concerned that if she grows too fast she will have hip problems when she gets older.
Bailey weighed in at 13lbs, and Gator is 11.5lbs.

Well yet another name update: On the left is Gator, and on the right is Bailey. Planning on getting ID tags today, so they are stuck with these names now... hmmm


I forgot to mention, the first week we had them we took them in for a well puppy check, Gator weighed in a 7lbs 4oz, and Bailey weighed in at 7lbs 14oz. When Gator sits, she holds her paws weird, almost like her wrist is double jointed. The vet said it is a hyper extended someting or other... not anything to worry about. In watching Bailey I think she does it mildly occasionaly...
They go back next week for their first shots.

I am having problems uploading photos, but thought I would put in an update.
I have been going on "herd" walks thru the property each day. A herd walk consists of ALL 6 pets, 4 dogs and 2 cats! It is quite amusing listening to Natasha cat yell at us to wait up.
2 days ago Gator decided to tackle Louis Cat. I think Gator was attempting to play with the cat the way she does with Jaws. We did play with naming Jaws Penelope the other day, but Samantha kept coming to it, then she would get mad at Jaws for invading her space… so we are back to Jaws. She is quite the cry baby. Gator is MUCH quieter!
They day we got them We stopped by and picked up 2 collars for them. They were quiet large on them, but they already fit nicely on the smallest setting. We think Jaws is going to be a lot larger than Gator.

The puppies and kitties are facinated by eachother.

Ok, it is official, their names are Jaws shown here, and Gator...

name update: Looks like Gator is going to stick,
but Socks doesn't seem to like her name, and I accidently called her Jax this morning so we are trying Jaxie for now, but it may change again.

Well, some people are not so bright! We have new family members... The cats seem huge now!



They are both girls. Their mother is part Lab, part Boxer.
Socks has the blue collar, and loves to chew on socks while we attempt to walk around, and Gator is the red collar, she loves to chew on EVERYTHING! We are not sure if those are the permanent names yet... :) They were born Friday teth 13th in a litter of 13 puppies. 1/2 were black the other 1/2 were tan.
Socks has a bit of a pink nose, and pink pads on her feet. Gator has a black nose and black pads w/ a ting of pink. Socks and Suzi clicked, but then Gator came and sat on my lap, sooooo.... oops.... :)

We had a long weekend, so we took short trip. Originally we were thinking of going up by Sequim to camp, but decided to look at the weather map and the best weather was in SW WA so we decided to go to our old favorite Cape Disappointment State Park. (on a side note, they got 12 inches of snow in Sequim that weekend)



We decided to take the kitties with us. Everyone seemed to be settling in well. Loius is the one on the dinette. He is sitting right in front of the heater fan.



Ginger has a nice cozy spot up on the top bunk



Sam and Ginger could not wait to run on the beach!

It was beautiful out!



The surf was more dramatic than normal, and occasionally the wind would make the waves do a wispy dance in the sky.



The next day the Coast Guard decided to come out to do exercises and entertain us tourists...
They would start out by lowering down a guy out of the helicopter.



They had dummies hanging off the cliff.



Then they would go back via helicopter over the water to be raised back up.



The whole while there was a coast guard boat off shore.



Back at the camper the kitties were having fun, well, Natasha was anyway...
She discovered going into the basement.



Then she discovered that the cupboards are actually a bunk bed with a nice access area...



Louis on the other hand was content to sit in front of the heater.



The next day the clouds decided to come in.



It was warm, and the surf was up. I was surprised to see the surfers. (there is a strong rip tide here making it dangerous for swimmers) It was fun to watch them though.




Even though there were clouds it was actually a really nice day.



A couple of years ago this life vessel fell off of a ship.



It moves up and down the beach, being moved by the larger storms.



Even though it was a cloudy day, the last sunset was beautiful.
