S.O.S.
Day 1 of incarceration:
My name is Smudge and I have managed to get to my captor's computer.
I just hope that I can reach my people. My cell-mate Jack doesn't know how to type yet, but we plot together each day and night towards freedom.
The two people here are weird! First, we went for a bumpy ride in this dark place and arrived and were carried up the steps to be placed on a table. HELP!!

Did a bit of work on the camper.
The side of the camper where it sits next to the wheel well had some rotten wood, and was bulging out. (I forgot to take a before shot...)
Since there is no support other than the rotten wood from the access door to the rear of the camper, I put a piece of 3/8 inch plywood on the inside glued and screwed to the part that is not rotten. Here is a shot of it. I already painted it, but need to touch up where the screws are...
Once the inside piece was mounted I took off all the rotten wood.
I replaced the wood with 3/8 inch plywood.
Then I glued and screwed a piece of 1/4 inch plywood down the whole length. I still need to cut the hole for the access door in the 1/4 ply, but I am going to wait.

We took a day trip up to the Skagit Valley on they North Cascades Highway (US20) yesterday. There are supposed to be eagles that come down from Alaska and the Yukon to winter each year. We saw 3 Eagles, 3 Hawks and a couple of Great Blue Herons. Unfortunately we were not able to get a pic of any of them. The sun was out which was nice, but it was in the wrong spot for photo's. The girls were nice enough to pose for this shot of them sitting on the Skagit River bank.

Suzi decided she wanted to sniff a new field, so we took a day trip and went down to Money Creek Campground.
It is closed for the winter, so we had the whole campground to ourselves. since the campground is right on the river, there was some bank errosion and the heavy picknic tables were in interesting places.
The girls had a blast!

Camper update:
Had a nice day today, over 50F with some sunshine, so I took the brief opportunity to put a coat of SnowRoof on the camper. It is used for metal roofs like for mobile homes etc, and is supposed to be 500% elastic so... seems like this is the stuff the locals use on their old camper roofs.
I am going to put a 2nd coat on the areas where cracks etc are.
Here is what the roof looked like when I was about 1/2 done cleaning it.

The camper we got needs some TLC, and modification... We were having a hard time finding a camper from the 70's that was not totally wood rotted, and also since we have a 2002 truck, our tailgate width is smaller than the trucks from the 70's. The camper we got had an extra box mounted on the side of the camper where the tailgate goes, giving the camper more floor space in the porta potty room. The box was 2" wider than would fit on our truck.
When we started, we knew there was a water line in the way for the drain on the water tank. We figured the wires for the tail lights would be out of the way since on our last camper the wiring was routed thru the ceiling. We decided to peel the box like a potato just incase there were more surprises...
The copper tube is the water line. It was routed thru the box, and the copper tube is just a short piece attaching to plastic tube at either end, so we were able to just spin it out of the way.
Rather than just trimming the 2 inches needed, we decided to take the box completely off. Thinking it will make it easier to load the camper in the future.
Since we were in the driveway of the people we bought the camper from, we decided not to patch the hole, and just get it loaded and take it home...
