We were inspired by our neighbor, and decided to plant a small garden. We planted some pots on the porch, along with a 5'x10' plot out in the yard. We planted rather late in the year, so there is not much to show, but we are having fun with it.

In the garden we planted corn, sunflowers, pumpkins, zucchini squash, and crookneck squash, peppers, and potatoes. We also put a pot with a green cherry tomato plant, which has it's first babies on it.

On the porch we planted artichokes, zucchini squash, peppers, lettuce (which was all devoured by some unknown source), table onions, peas, and various herbs.

the pea pod has started growing!

We have 2 zucchini plants:

One even has a baby zucchini growing!
Little Loius has really bonded with Ginger.

He entertains easily.
Suzi's parents lost one of their elderly kitties. Little Cleo will be missed.

Here Cleo is sunning with his brother Arty.

We planted a rhododendron plant over his grave.
It is on the hill near Buggs.

We decided to check out a new off leash area today. It is on Eby Island, which is East of Everett on state hwy 2.

They call this part of hwy 2 the tressel. The roadway is elevated thru the area. some of the houses on the island remind us of Louisiana since they look elevated for floods. It is a nice little park.
The mowed trails thru 1/2 of the park for the dogs to sniff and stroll.
The other half is for sports and is totally mowed.

It was a nice experience, and we will probably go to this park again! :P

If you are wondering about the park, their web page is http://www.ebeydog.org/

This robin likes to yell at us if we go near the nest in the wood shed.
Saw this cute bird at Marymoore park yesterday.
Its a song sparrow. Note the black spot on the chest. mb

Took the dogs for a little stroll in Monroe and saw these deer across the river.
Found this little frog in the neighbors garden.
It was sooo cut the way it found a little hole to perch in.

There were also a bunch of these teal bugs in the garden.
Suzi had a great idea, put the chair by the door. The kitties seem to really like it, and Natasha doesn't climb the screen when I remember to put the chair out.

We have some wood to split better, and put in the shed...
I found a nest in the wood shed.

Looks like as good an excuse as any to procrastinate on putting the wood away!

The Deer had twins again this year. Caught them getting a bit of a snack.
The Calla Lily is really happy this year!
Poor Sammy, she REALLY was not impressed with all the fireworks on the 4th of July!
Caught the deer resting in our backyard. That is how much the grass grew while we were gone for 2 weeks.
