Just a quick update. We are currently in Ville Platte, LA. We are at the library updating this, so no pics. Suzi's last day here is December 3, 2005.
We have been having fun on her days off looking at the wildlife around. We have seen lots of cool birds, dinner-plate sized turtles, and numerous Alligators!
We are currently parked at the local State Park. (Chicot State Park) They are kind enough to let us stay for free since we are here to help with the hurricane. We are not sure how long that will last. There is not much locally in the way of RV parks. And normally the State park has a 2week limit. So we may need to move before Suzi's contract is up.
We have no web service (unless we drive to Lafette, or stop by the library) and our cell phones don't work at home, so we need to drive 8 miles to town to make a call. We cannot get any radio stations, but are able to get TV. go figure...
The people here in Louisiana are really nice! When they get stressed, or excited it is hard to understand them, and they seem fustrated by our inability to understand them. It sometimes feels like we are in a foreign country, and know very little of the language... There is a lot of trash about... is it always like that, or is a result of the hurricanes?? If you can see past the trash, the area is very beautiful!
