Mt Baker/ Baker Lake WA

We started vacation by heading up to Mt Baker. We decided to check out the area around Baker Lake. We only saw 1 campground open, near the Damn for Baker Lake. Of course we headed up the hills and looked for a site. We thought we might get a good view if we were across Baker Lake from the Mountain.
We were pleasantly surpised by a great site with a view of both Mt Baker and Baker Lake.

There is a smaller damn Near the main Baker Lake damn, we had a view of the smaller damn.

We drove across the Baker Lake Damn which was a single lane. The road turned into a single lane gravel road with turn outs climbing up the mountains.

It was fun watching the sunset over the mountain.

A bunch of these little birds came by looking for a snack. We disappointed them…

We drove further up the road from our campsite.

There was a better view of Mt Baker and Baker lake. We enjoyed the almost unnatural vibrant teal color of the lake.

Great view of Mt Shuksan up the road.

Saw this hawk close to the shore of Baker Lake.

We found a creek at the headwaters of Baker Lake. The puppies had a blast fetching across the water. It was a warm sunny day!

We camped our last night on the south east side of the mountain.
Thought this was an appropriate photo since Halloween is coming up soon. It was over by the garden along the driveway.
Been awhile since I blogged… Suzi had a couple of weeks off for vacation time so we stayed in Washington and took several trips occasionally stopping by home to check on the kitties. Then on Suzi’s first day back to work she came down with stomach flu and missed most of the week. We are finally getting back in our routine.

Little Bailey had a problem with her Spaying.
Turns out she has a rare allergy to the disolveable stitches.

She got a shot of steriods to stop the problem. It was casusing the stitches to disolve faster than normal which worried the vet. She also has some antibiotic pills to take which she likes with wet kitty food.

She is doing better now, and healing nicely.
On Floor: Gator and Ginger
On Couch: Bailey
Bailey loves his cat Louis. It turns out Louis likes Bailey too. He likes to grab Bailey and not let her leave...
Gator is trying to re-assure her Bailey puppy.
This is Lolita, Joe and Carisha's newest pet.

She fits in the palm of your hand now, but she is supposed to get to the size of Joe's forearm.

Spay Day :)
Bailey and Sammy Greet after the big surgery.

In her drugged out state Gator gave Natasha a little hello.
I came home the other day and everyone except Natasha greeted me at the door.
All 4 puppies have been enjoying the occasional trip to Marymoor park. It is a 40 acre off leash doggie area.

Gator and Bailey are sure enjoying the maple tree stump left over in the back yard!
We took a quick camping trip up to Snoqualmie pass. The lake was down, and we were able to park off away from everyone once again.

The puppies are taking to the camping nicely.

Cool stump/ roots

Bailey sure likes fetch!

Found a bit of wildlife on our walk.

It was a bit breezy out. The neighbors took advantage with a little kite flying. Reminded us of being at the ocean.

Front row: Ginger, Bailey, Gator
Back Row: Samantha, Suzi

We got the puppies their first pool. Sam had to show them how to use it.
Bailey loves it, but Gator is hesitant to use it. She does drink out of it, and ends up all wet once Bailey tackles her after being in the pool. So they both seem to be staying cool in the hot weather we have had this summer.

We went camping at Penrose State Park near Gig Harbor WA.

We met Suzi’s parents at the campground.

Though there were lots of people, we were able to find a spot to let the pups run on the beach for a moment.

Saw this Heron while on the beach.

Saw this Buck over by the RV pad today.

I have not see a buck for several months.
Today was special, Louis brought in a live snake!

ok, I have never had outdoor cats before... Louis and Natasha have been bringing moles, squirrels, mice, well you get the idea… sometimes live, mostly dead. I am not sure what to do… I used to have the same problem with Samantha. I guess they are trying to take care of us… Oh by the way, the cats are eating more cat food now, I guess they don’t eat what they catch!?!?!
