We stopped by the Wild Horses Monument above Vantage, WA.



We found a gravel area away from the paved parking lot directly below the monument. We were going to just have lunch, but time got away from us.



We took a short hike on the hill near the camper.



The dogs had a blast.

Suzi wanted to hike up to the monument, but wanted to take the dogs, and there were lots of people, so We decided that there were no signs so we spent the night…
In the morning Suzi got up at 4:30am and took Samantha, Gator, and Bailey for a hike up to the monument.

Ginger was happy to stay behind with me.



It did not take as long as we thought it would, she was only gone about an hour.





That is I-90 below, where it crosses the river at Vantage.

We decided to take a weekend trip camping. We started out after work at Snoqualmie pass.


Our spot was fooded. We normally turn right where the island is.

We have had several deer hanging around lately.

At first I did not even realize this was a young buck...


This on one of the moms. She lays in the open while her baby sleeps? in the woods... There are 5 fawns in the neighborhood, one single and 2 sets of twins. The mom with the single has chosen our yard to spend alot of time in...


There are several yearlings that hang around together. I know this is an obscene shot but I thought it turned out cool... I was surprised at how close I was to her when she assumed the position, this was taken with no zoom...

This Female Red Breasted Grosbeak? is our newest member at the feeding hole.

Banks Lake near Grand Coulee in Eastern Washington was our last stop on the way home.
Yet another chance for Bailey to take a dip… If you can’t find Bailey, look at where Gator is looking, she is on the ready to help Bailey upon her return… Ginger and Samantha took the opportunity to do some serious sniffing.

We stopped by Eureka Lake going both directions.
Samantha was content hanging out by the camper… food??



Bailey enjoyed the cool mountain water… brrrrr



Ginger even enjoyed a bit of a dip.



Gator was highly interested in the boat racing by.



Of course when Gator was not sidetracked by the boat, she was prepared to assist Bailey upon her return from the cold waters…

Montana wild life

This bunny lives under the deck.

Saw this buck outside of Choteau Montana.
I was surprised to see the horns.

Since the buck laying in the yard here has no horn growth yet.

This is a doe named girl.


This little finch was being cute at the water dish.

The Squirrel was quiet the ham, posing for his photo’s


The humming birds were very active. (I am waiting for a bear report since they are attracted to humming bird feeders…)


I even got a couple of shots mid flight…


Speaking of bears, there were fresh bear claw marks on the trash bin when we arrived… or was this the real culprit??

Of course the trip would not be complete without a shot of Ear Mountain.

We decided to take the whole family. At first we were only going to bring the dogs, but the cats got excited about the camper… so…



Louis was fascinated at Natasha’s new spot on top of the microwave.



It did seem cramped at times for the puppies Gator (bottom) and Bailey (top)



Ginger and Samantha, having seniority had plenty of space.



Louis found a great hiding spot under the freezer.



Natasha preferred the sunny spot.



The kitties found the balcony a hit.



Natasha decided she preferred to ride in the cab. It reminded us of our 1 year trip with Buger cat.

We recently took a trip back to Montana. We started out at Keechelus Lake. The lake was low enough this year. (last year the road was flooded)
It was our first 'real' trip with the camper on the new truck.

The dogs enjoyed the short stop.

The other day the local weather guy said it was a nice day for November... yeah, cold, wet, and windy... the sun today is a nice change!

This is birthday month around here... Bailey and Gator turned 1 year old on March 13th.

Bailey above preferes fetch with a tennis ball, while
Gator below prefers football with her small basketball...
can Gator open that mouth any wider??

Samantha below will be turning 13 years old this August.

Ginger below will be turning 14 years old this July.

The kitties below, Natasha on left Louis on right are turning 3 years old at the end of this month.
