We heard the Salmon were running at the locks in Seattle, so we took a trip over to see them. There is a fish ladder where Lake Washington dumps into the salt water of the Puget Sound.
Above one guy would catch a fish with his net in the fish ladder, and hand it across to the other 2 who would weigh and tag the fish. When they were done with that, they put the fish in Lake Washington.
Below they have windows so you can see the fish working their way up to the lake.

The other day Suzi and the dogs were out snacking on berries in the front yard. Suzi heard something making noise, so she turned expecting to see her faithful puppies behind her. They were not there, so she looked to see where they were. They were ditching her, and heading for the house, which was unusual. So she decided the rattling in the bushes was unnerving, and headed for the house. We found alot of the black berry bushes had been nibbled on, and this scat was scattered all thru that area. We think it is bear. The nieghbors have recently seen bear scat in their yard as well.
On a side note, the dogs liked the flavor of this particular scat...

Poor little Samantha dog. She HATES loud noises! The last couple of days she has had to deal with fireworks, and to top it off, tonight several neighbors put on firework shows, and mother nature decided to add a little tunder too boot.
We had the best view from our portch looking directly across the street.

While up at Steven's Pass, we decided to see if they opened the road to Iron Goat trail at the Cascade Tunnel and Snow shelter. It was open and all the pot holes etc were fixed. It is a short walk to the tunnel entrance.
As we got closer to the entrance we were greeted by cold air coming from the tunnel before we could even see it. It felt wonderful on this hot day!
